Spec’ing Fundamentals: Volvo PTOs and Pumps

This course explores how to match the right PTO and pump system to a customer’s application. You’ll learn about PTO types, mounting locations, speed ratios, torque limits, and pump options. By the end, you’ll be able to confidently recommend the ideal setup for your customers.
After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the types and functions of PTOs and pumps available in Volvo trucks
  • Explain the differences between transmission, rear engine (REPTO), front engine (FEPTO), and split shaft PTOs
  • Recommend appropriate PTO and pump configurations based on customer application needs
